Vacuum store
A simple and very pleasant interaction with a fellow vacuum-buyer. She was over 70, white hair, baggy sweatshirt, no makeup, just wanting a good vacuum to keep things clean. She was happy. I was happy.

It was nice having friends over to chat last night in the backyard that Ben cleaned up for the get-together. It was a pleasant September evening with neighbors and fellow church-goers. Golf lessons in the background. The kids all played together well. We talked about real stuff. People need people. Hopefully more posts like this to come. Hopefully more poetic. Yes, more poetry in my life would be good. Both in and out.
We tore out all of our grass and put in planter boxes. On the right side of the lawn we have squash, pumpkin, and zucchini growing. I don't miss the green grass. I love seeing the green stems of the veggies we're attempting to grow. I feel settled and secure. New roof overhead, solar panels to help as much as we can with the environment and to ease climate change. I love the earth. I want to protect her. Life is not perfect, and we have our ups and downs, but we're getting by. We're not under water, but thriving. We're not super fit, but we keep moving forward. We're going to make it.
Sparky Marcus by James William Hindle (featuring Paula Frazier)
See how the sun,
Has bleached your hair?
It makes me think,
That you’re barely there.
See how the day,
Can make you blue?
It gets me thinking,
That I don’t know you.
Watchin the way
[I can’t figure it out],
To make you bitter,
To make you cry
I couldn't’ have done
Just one more thing,
Just to let you wait a while,
And not let you in,
Oooo, aaa, aaa, aaaa
I have a feeling
That the day will come,
When all that we have,
Will come undone.
I have the gall,
To ask for anything,
And when you’re down and small, I’ll let you in.
--Happy 21st Wedding Anniversary Ben. Here are the words to the song you enjoy playing on the guitar. I will print them out. I love you.
