Track: Particle Man
Artist: They Might Be Giants

Comments: I randomly met the band. I had just run a 10k race pretty fast and had to go to the bathroom, you know, really bad. So Ben dropped me off at the late University Park Hotel, and as we were driving away after my much needed pit-stop, we saw a bunch of scroungy looking hipsters loading equipment into a van. Ben said, "I think that's 'They Might be Giants'". So I rolled down the window and said, "Hi", are you "They Might Be Giants?" and they said, "Yes". And I said, "you were great on the NPR interview the other day." (Never mind they played a rock'n concert the night before and I love many of their quirky tunes.) They thanked me, smugly, for the compliment, and we drove away.

This "particle" tune is a particular favorite.

Absurditis (a serious condition brought on by exposure to an overwhelming amount of stress from law school).

Absurd thought #1: I am amused by
a certain professor's lectures and his/her ability to Deconstruct seemingly simple concepts in an attempt to enlighten us with a deep understanding of the nuances embedded in language and the ineffectuality of communication between human beings. It's beautifully absurd; artistic really. Very Borgesian.

Absurd ramblings: The point of my life is to enjoy it and 29 years into it, I realize that my life has always been about enjoying it, I just didn't realize it until now. Oddly enough, law school has been the vehicle to my epiphany (since it has been the most enjoyable experience of my life so far). So now I just let my imagination run wild and traipse through my enjoyable memories one by one, (only for some reason all of my memories, and consequently dreams seem to be in brief and outline format, which is strange since I haven't even started my outline.)

But it's really quite enjoyable; that is enjoying the enjoyable memories. I wonder how far I could take it. I guess I could enjoy the memory of enjoying the enjoyable memories ad infinitum or ad naseum. (Those are some cool latin terms I've added to my vocab these last few weeks. I'm sure I've used them incorrectly but they just sound really cool.)

Laughter, humor, absurdity - the last and final sanctuaries for a stressed law student. The Jackie Chiles Law Society is truly the only sane place for someone that has been completely overcome by my condition (which aint contagious or anything just really frightening to be around. I apologize to my classmates, professors, Wendy, Suzanne and anyone else who has been the victim of my condition. Thankfully a particularly notorious judge has been freed up to rescue you from me.)
